GITEX Global 2026 at Expo City Dubai: How to Plan Ground Transport for Your Team

For the first time, GITEX Global leaves Dubai World Trade Centre. The 2026 edition takes place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai, from 7 to 11 December. For exhibitors and delegations, this changes one thing above all: how you get your people there every morning.

Here is what to expect, and how to plan it.

Why Expo City changes the plan

Dubai World Trade Centre sits in the middle of the city, next to the hotels on Sheikh Zayed Road. Expo City is in the south of Dubai, near Al Maktoum International Airport. From Downtown Dubai or DIFC, count roughly 35 to 45 minutes by road outside peak hours, and much more during the morning rush. From Dubai Marina or JLT, it is closer, around 25 to 35 minutes.

The Red Line metro reaches Expo City, but trains will be crowded during show week, and the ride from the city centre is long. For a team carrying samples, screens or stand materials, or for executives with back-to-back meetings, the metro is rarely the right option.

The dates matter too. GITEX starts the day after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend (3–6 December). Many premium vehicles and chauffeurs will already be booked for the race. If you wait until November, choice and prices will not be on your side.

Three transport set-ups that work

  1. Shuttle loops from your hotels. If your team stays in two or three hotels, a minibus or coach running a fixed loop in the morning and evening is the most reliable and cost-effective option. Everyone knows the departure times, and nobody depends on taxis.

  2. Chauffeured cars on disposal for executives. A car and chauffeur available for the whole day lets your leadership move between Expo City, client meetings in the city and dinners without waiting.

  3. Evening event transfers. GITEX week is full of receptions, partner dinners and side events. Group transfers with fixed return times keep guests safe and on schedule.

Most exhibitors combine the three. See how we organise exhibition and GITEX transport.

A simple planning checklist

  • Confirm where each team member is staying, and their arrival and departure flights.

  • Decide your daily start time: setting up the stand before opening means leaving the hotel very early.

  • Plan the build-up and dismantling days separately from show days.

  • Share a list of VIPs who need a dedicated car.

  • Name one contact on your side, and ask for one coordinator on ours.

  • Book before the end of October.
